Discover Gloucester is hiring a Digital Marketing Coordinator to support the day to day functions of the organization. The Digital Marketing Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include collecting, editing, reviewing and posting business profiles on the discovergloucester.com WordPress website, building and researching engaging social media content, managing an editorial calendar for social media platforms and the website, assisting with press and media outreach, blog writing, and some general administrative tasks. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Make your own schedule with flexible hours. Working fully remotely or hybrid remote/ in-office is optional. This position is up to 20 hours/week.
- Write, edit and post local business profiles, directory listings
- Update and manage the Events Calendar
- Collect, edit website images for calendar, listings, and other projects/campaigns
- Write and edit articles/stories that promote Gloucester as a visitor destination for website blog
- Social media content development and calendar management for Discover Gloucester Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok
- Produce and send weekly visitor-facing E-newsletter in Constant Contact
- Weekly check-ins with Executive Director on content calendar and marketing strategy
- Compile monthly Digital Marketing Report for Board of Directors meeting
Additional Functions include:
- Update E newsletter contact lists quarterly
- Support Annual Visitor Guide process
- Ongoing auditing of website with support from ED
- Assist with Mug Up and Community events
- Assist with coordination of media visits and familiarization trips
- Assist with writing and distribution of press releases
Ideal Candidate/Experience:
- Experience with and enthusiasm for managing social media platforms; content calendars
- 1-3 years of experience in content editing/writing
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Google Suite, Adobe Suite a plus
- Familiar with WordPress, Constant Contact, photo editing, HTML knowledge a plus
- Strong grasp of English language, grammar and usage
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects
- Proven ability to be highly organized and self-sufficient
- Passion for and/or knowledge of the Gloucester community
