Meet the “coolest guys in town” at Cape Pond Ice. This historic ice company, located in Gloucester’s The Fort neighborhood, has been making and icing fleets since 1848. From June through August, you can take their 45-minute narrated tour of the historic Ice House, learn about the fishing industry, see spectacular carved ice sculptures, and watch a fishing boat load up with ice. Cape Pond Ice was also featured in Sebastian Junger’s account of The Perfect Storm.

 

Stop by the Cape Pond Ice Gift Shop for a “cool” souvenir such as one of their warm sweatshirts.
