Tell Me a Story: Your Life in Pictures

Tell Me a Story explores storytelling in books and art works. Over the course of a few weeks, we will read a chapter book and explore similar narratives found in the Museum’s art objects. At the end of each book, participants will create their own artwork based on these themes.
This month, we will be reading Deborah Zemke’s Bea Garcia: My Life in Pictures. We will be exploring how the artists in the Folly Cove and the Fitz Henry Lane galleries tell stories through their art, just like Bea Garcia.
Thursdays, January 6, 13, 20, 27, February 3, 2022 from 3:30-4:30 pm
Open to ages 6-9, children need to be accompanied by an adult. This program is free and open to the public, registration is required for the entire program.
Art Activity: Tell Me a Story in Six Panels.
February 3, 2022 from 3:30-4:30 pm
Participants will create a visual narrative of a special or memorable event in their life. Each panel will reflect a separate part of the story. Depending on age and capability, written word “bubbles” can be included.
