The exhibit is being presented through a collaboration between the Cape Ann Museum and The Phillips Collection (Washington\, D.C.). On view at the Cape Ann Museum from June 30 through September 27\, 2026\, the exhibition will then be displayed at The Phillips Collection from October 24\, 2026\, through January 24\, 2027. \nAs the first Cape Ann Museum generated show to then be taken on by another institution\, the Museum is working in close collaboration with all three artists’ estates. DESCRIPTION:Besides headlining A-List comedy clubs for almost forty years\, Paul has also opened for over sixty internationally known recording acts including Ray Charles\, Aretha Franklin\, Tom Jones\, Tony Bennett\, The Beach Boys\, Chicago\, The Four Tops\, The Temptations\, The Doobie Brothers\, Jerry Lee Lewis\, Lyle Lovett\, and George Carlin\, and has performed in many famed entertainment venues ranging from the legendary Friar’s Club and the main ballroom of New York City’s Waldorf Astoria\, to the main showroom at Harrah’s Casino and Caesar’s Palace. \nPaul co-starred in the popular stand-up comedy movie The Godfathers of Comedy on Showtime\, and is also the author of six hilarious books that have won numerous literary awards. \nCarolyn Plummer. God help us. Some comics rely on the monumental events of the day or the faux pas of the rich and famous. Not Carolyn. Carolyn pulls material from the hum-drum\, day-to-day monotony of the life of everyman; and she does it well. To Carolyn the monumental is easy… it’s our existence that’s so hard\, yet so ridiculous. Some women look in the mirror and complain that they aren’t pretty enough\, not rich enough\, not young enough. Carolyn gives her reflection the finger.
