SUMMARY:Neighbor
DESCRIPTION:Neighbor is a dynamic quartet that blends ambitious compositions\, soulful balladry\, and fearless improvisations to create a unique musical experience. Featuring Richard James (vocals\, keys) Rob Compa (guitar)\, Dan Kelly (bass) and Dean Johnston (drums)\, together they fuel the groove and lay a solid foundation for Neighbor’s “down home” sound. \nThe band’s creative incubation began in early 2019 with a weekly residency that grew in large part by the passion of their fans\, the “Neighbors”\, who continue to inspire the band as the fan base has expanded across the country. This dedicated community and ongoing connection to fans has become a cornerstone of Neighbor’s success every time they step on stage. \nWith a diverse catalog of hundreds of songs\, the musical juggernaut Neighbor has become one of the most exciting and unpredictable live bands on the music scene today. Not boxed in by a single genre\, their songwriting brings elements of Americana\, Funk\, Rock\, Jazz\, Soul and more. The band is putting pen to paper once again as they head back into the studio to begin work on their second album. \nCome see what’s good in the Neighborhood.

SUMMARY:Street Stories with Phil Storey 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join noted raconteur Phil Storey for this “fun filled” Phil Facts about Gloucester’s deep literary past! \nPhil Storey is a local local historian\, noted raconteur\, and master storyteller. He developed this engaging literary walking tour during Gloucester’s 400+ celebration and is excited to continue hosting it in partnership with the Gloucester Writers Center. \nGloucester has long been home to remarkable writers and literary voices. From early pioneers like Judith Sargent Murray and her groundbreaking feminist writings\, to Nobel Prize-winning poet T.S. Eliot\, who spent many summers of his boyhood in Gloucester\, the city’s connection to literature runs deep. Gloucester’s landscape\, harbor\, and sea life have inspired generations of writers and poets. \nThe tour also explores the rich poetic dialogue between Charles Olson and Vincent Ferrini in the twentieth century\, as well as the many visiting authors who came to Gloucester seeking inspiration. These include Rudyard Kipling\, author of Captains Courageous; Henry Wadsworth Longfellow\, whose poem The Wreck of the Hesperus was inspired by the region; and horror master H.P. Lovecraft\, whose The Shadow Over Innsmouth echoes the atmosphere of Cape Ann’s fishing towns. Join us for a funny\, entertaining\, and informative walk through Gloucester’s literary past. \nMeet at 80 Main Street\nAll Literary Walk dates begin at 10:00 AM \nMay 30\nJune 13\nJune 27\nJuly 11\nJuly 25\nAug 8\nAugust 22\nSeptember 5\nSeptember 19 – Rails to Trails Event \nDonations Asked. \n

SUMMARY:CoCo Haze at Gallery RAG
DESCRIPTION:COCO HAZE RESIDENCY\nIMPROVISATIONAL\, IMMERSIVE INSTALLATIONs\n\nJoin us for the beginning of the CoCo Haze Residency during the month of July.\n\nCoCo Haze is not a single person but a collective identity—an experiment in dissolving the boundaries of authorship. Initiated by Deborah Read and Tracy Haze\, CoCo expands to include other artists\, writers\, and participants as the work unfolds. CoCo is porous\, flexible\, and alive.\nOn opening night\, Tracy and Deb will begin the first iteration of CoCo for the month\, working live in the gallery—installing\, improvising\, and making art in real time. The audience is invited to witness the process as it happens.\n\nThis is not an unveiling but an activation.\n\nThe environment created that evening becomes the stage for the rest of the month—a living installation where artists\, poets\, writers\, and visitors are invited to enter\, respond\, and participate. Nothing is fixed in advance. The work grows through encounter.\nCoCo Haze is less a name than a field of relations—an ongoing practice of making and unmaking the self together.
