SUMMARY:K-POP DEMON HUNTERS Dance Party & Sing-Along April Show
DESCRIPTION:This is the show that started it all. K POP DEMON HUNTERS Dance Party & Sing-Along is our high-energy touring family experience that has been packing out dance floors around the country. It is a live DJ-led party built for kids\, tweens\, and parents to actually enjoy together — not just watch from the sidelines. \nExpect huge sing-alongs\, big energy\, crowd interaction\, K-pop dancers\, and a full dance floor from the minute the music starts. Parents always come in thinking they’re just bringing the kids and then end up singing\, dancing\, and having the best time too. That’s the whole point. It’s No Sitter Necessary in real life.

SUMMARY:William Shakespeare’s RICHARD III presented by Cape Ann Shakespeare Troupe
DESCRIPTION:Shakespeare introduces one of his most notorious villains in Richard III. Richard\, the deformed youngest brother of the newly crowned King Edward\, vows to his audience to “prove himself a villain.” Armed with unparalleled skills of persuasion and deceit\, he murders and manipulates his way to the English throne. A strangely lovable villain\, Richard easily wins his audience over\, leaving us to question who we are truly rooting for. However\, a kingdom built on lies and ruthless ambition is destined to crumble. Richard entrances the audience with his wit\, cunning manipulation of language\, and vicious determination—qualities that once won his audience\, ultimately lead to his rapid downfall. \nPerforming from April 9th-12th and 16th-19th\, all performances are at The Natti-Willsky Performance Center\, Home of Gloucester Stage Company\, 267 East Main Street\, Gloucester. Showtimes are Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3:00pm. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 978-281-4433.

SUMMARY:The Clements Brothers
DESCRIPTION:The Clements Brothers are George (guitar) and Charles (upright bass)\, identical twins from the heart of New England. The two have been playing and writing music together for as long as they can remember\, first entering the Americana music scene in 2012 as part of the internationally touring grass-roots band\, ‘The Lonely Heartstring Band\,’ with whom they put out two albums on Rounder Records. Most recently\, George could be found playing the role of Paul Simon in the hit national act ‘The Simon and Garfunkel Story’ while Charles could often be found on stage with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Now\, ‘The Clements Brothers’ marks their first original project together\, focused on capturing their singer-songwriter sensibilities in a unique blend\, with harmonies only achievable by their identical voices\, at once enthralling and intimate\, groovy and serene.

SUMMARY:Emerging Perspectives\, Works by Artists 18-30
DESCRIPTION:Gallery Hours: Friday – Sunday\, 12-5pm \n‘Emerging Perspectives’ is a juried exhibition illuminating the vital and evolving voices of the region’s next generation of artists. This showcase serves as a bridge between the storied traditions of America’s oldest continuously operating art colony and the imaginative inquiries of creators aged 18 to 30. \nSelected by the RNAC Exhibitions Committee\, the exhibition presents a focused collection of work that captures a moment of professional becoming. Spanning a wide range of media\, the collection reflects a deep commitment to personal exploration and the pursuit of a distinct visual language. By facilitating a dialogue between these rising artists and the established creative lineage of Gloucester\, the Rocky Neck Art Colony continues its 150-year legacy of fostering the future of the arts. \n‘Emerging Perspectives’ is an invitation to witness the initial professional steps of those who will shape our cultural landscape. It offers a rare glimpse into the burgeoning careers of artists as they transition their practice into the public sphere. We invite the community to observe this growth and support the creative spirit that defines our region. \nThe public is invited to celebrate these new perspectives at the Opening Reception on Sunday\, April 12\, 2026\, from 4-6:00pm. Join Rocky Neck Art Colony and the artists to experience the collection\, meet the artists\, and enjoy an afternoon of refreshments and lively conversation. \nArtwork by: (clockwise) Ben Laird\, Blocks; Ethan LeJeune\, Standing Stones; Rory Kenney\, Be There; Tia Camire\, Prey

SUMMARY:CAM Talk: Joseph Solman – A Leader of Expressionism in the Early 20th Century Who Never Stopped Finding Pattern\, Poetry\, and Drama in “the Subject\,” by Heather Atwood
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 9\, 2026\n2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.\nJanet & William Ellery James Center\, CAM Green\n13 Poplar Street\, Gloucester\, MA 01930\nCAM Members $5\, Non-Members $10.\nRegistration Required. Parking is first come\, first served and carpooling is encouraged. \nDue to limited parking\, a shuttle from an additional lot will be available and details will be sent closer to the day of the talk. \nAs the Cape Ann Museum opens its newly renovated space with an exhibition of Milton Avery\, Adolph Gottlieb\, and Mark Rothko\, it’s worth remembering their New York friend and colleague Joseph Solman\, a fellow leader of 20th‑century American Expressionism with similarly strong ties to Cape Ann. In 1935\, Solman\, Rothko\, and Gottlieb were all members of “The Ten\,” a group that challenged New York museums’ resistance to European Expressionism. While Rothko and Gottlieb later shifted toward Abstraction\, Solman spent his life creating Modernist works celebrated nationwide. Join Heather Atwood for a screening of her Color of Light video on Solman\, followed by a conversation with the artist’s son\, Emmy Award–winning journalist Paul Solman. \nThis lecture is presented in conjunction with the museum’s upcoming exhibition\, Avery\, Gottlieb\, & Rothko: By the Sea\, offering context and insight into the artists and themes in the exhibit. For more information about upcoming lectures for the exhibition\, please visit the Events Calendar. \nHeather Atwood has been examining Cape Ann Art and culture for years\, writing for The Gloucester Times\, Edible Boston\, and North Shore Magazine\, among others. Today\, she is a host and producer for 1623 Studios\, Cape Ann’s community access media station. Her work has been the recipient of a Mass Creator’s Award\, three awards from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Communications\, and a Davey Award. Her video series\, The Color of Light\, explores the lives and work of Cape Ann artists from the 19th century to present. The full series can be found on the 1623 Studios Youtube Channel under The Color of Light. \nPaul Solman is an American journalist focused on economics\, business\, and politics since the early 1970s. He has been the business and economics correspondent for the PBS NewsHour since 1985\, with occasional forays into art reporting. His work has been recognized with eight Emmys\, five Peabodys\, a Loeb award\, and a James Beard award for media. \nImage Credit: Joseph Solman\, Good Harbor Beach Scene\, 1980. Monotype on paper. SUMMARY:A Night of Comedy with Steve Sweeney & Guests
DESCRIPTION:Charlestown-born Steve Sweeney is known as the “undisputed King of Boston comedy“\, the embodiment of the city he calls home\, a local guy who has become a nationally recognizable talent. \nSweeney is known not only as a headlining comedian\, but also through his many memorable TV and movie appearances. During the early 1970s\, a small group of Boston ‘would-be’ comedians performed regularly at a comedy club started by Martin Olson and Barry Crimmins in a back room of the Chinese restaurant\, Ding-Ho\, near Inman Square in Cambridge\, MA. This group also included such unknowns as Lenny Clarke\, Kevin Meaney\, Jay Leno\, Bobcat Goldthwait\, Bill Sohonage\, and Steven Wright. Steve stood out from the crowd by incorporating his great insight into the New England political scene into his act. \nHe was the first of the Boston super-stars to break into television\, appearing on “Park Street Under\,” a Boston based sitcom that many believe was the inspiration for the highly successful television show “Cheers.” He’s also been on “Late Night with David Letterman\,” “Evening at The Improv” and “Comics Come Home.” You might remember his small but hilarious parts in films such as Rodney Dangerfield’s “Back to School\,” Judd Apatow’s “Celtic Pride\,” and “There’s Something About Mary” with Ben Stiller.
