WaxWorks: Silent Movie Matinee Featuring Pipe-Organist, Peter Krasinksi
As Halloween approaches, maestro of the pipe-organ and sonic artist Peter Krasinski returns to the Gloucester Meetinghouse to accompany the scary silent movie ‘Waxworks’ on Sunday, October 21st at 3:30 pm. As in past years, Peter will perform on the sonorous 1893 Hutchings-Fisk organ to the delight of the audience, young and old. A short film, featuring Douglas Fairbanks, called the ‘Electric House’ will open the show. Tickets are $20 Adults, $10 Students, kids under 12 free.

John Baboian Ensemble
The John Baboian Ensemble with guest vocalist Sandi Bedrosi is an all-faculty band from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. It includes guitars, trumpet/flute, vibes, bass and drums. While rooted in the “Bop” tradition, the band plays a variety of materials that reflect the long history of Jazz music. Gloucester 400, Our Stories Begin: 1623 through 1722
The Gloucester 400 Steering Committee invites the community to the first Signature event leading up to 2023 for an exploration of the settlement's history with a focus on its first century, 1623 through 1722. Beginning with the Native Americans who lived here before the Europeans arrived, and ending with the beginning waves of immigration, the program will highlight the first settler families who brought the settlement forward. All are encouraged to attend and participate.

Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration
The Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation presents the annual celebration for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in the historic 1806 Gloucester Meetinghouse, home of the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church at the corner of Church and Middle Streets. The program will unveil extensive research by the Cape Ann Slavery and Abolition Trust (CASAT) that documents the role that the industry of slavery had on Cape Ann from the 1700s until the Civil War. The program is free - all are welcome.
