MARKETING ASSISTANT (Part-Time)
Under the direction of Discover Gloucester’s Executive Director, the Marketing Assistant’s primary responsibilities include collecting, editing, reviewing and posting business profiles on the discoverglouceter.com WordPress website, building and researching engaging social media content and photography, assisting with press/media outreach, blogging and general administrative tasks as needed.
Primary Functions include:
Content Editing
- Research, review and post articles and event listings
- Write, edit and post local business profiles, directory listings
- Update and Manage the Events Calendar
- Collect, edit website images for calendar, listings, and other projects/campaigns
- Write and edit articles/stories that promote Gloucester as a visitor destination
- Social media management on all DMO’s platforms
- Daily/weekly reports of work planned/completed
Additional Functions include:
Marketing/Promotion
- Update quarterly e newsletter contact lists
- Assist with content and edits of e-newsletter
- Assist with blog content; writing posts as assigned
- Assist with monthly Mug Up and Community events
- Assist with coordination of FAM/media visits
- Assist with research and data collection/entry as needed
Ideal Candidate/Experience:
- 1-3 years’ experience in editing/writing field
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and web browsing
- Familiar with WordPress, Constant Contact, photo editing, HTML knowledge a plus
- Strong grasp of English language, grammar and usage
- Fondness for working online
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects
- Proven ability to be highly organized and self-sufficient
- Passion for and knowledge of the Gloucester community
Wage: $15.00/Hour. Hours: Up to 20 Hours/week
