Understanding Shakespeare: An Interactive Theater Workshop

Experience the world’s most famous love story, Romeo & Juliet, through movement, sound, and play with Lanes Coven Theater Co, a founding partner of Gloucester Center for the Arts. This isn’t a lecture—it’s an interactive workshop that uses theater techniques to bring Shakespeare’s language to life.
This four-class series, taught by Justin Genna & Lily Narbonne, uses theater and acting tools to help participants understand Romeo & Juliet and the overall rhythm of Shakespearean language. You do not have to be an actor to participate! These lessons are based on pedagogy originally designed for students in English Language classes. Every class consists of a warm-up, game, exercise, and main activity. For the best experience, we recommend being available for all four dates. Registration required. Please register for each workshop separately. Dates are 2/14, 2/28, and 3/7. Space is limited.
